My Universe

My Universe came first
I tagged along far behind
newborn I didn't claim it
for ages and ages
Why would I? Secrets are secret
Mine revealed itself one night
It clutched its heart and yelled
"Wake up! I'm yours!"
Embarrassed at the theatricality
I took one look and woke up
there it was, my Universe

So this is me, I thought
suddenly dismayed at this chaos
this for and against
forward and backward
I stilled my dissatisfaction
suddenly possessed by
what I possess - my universe
