reckless
the earth spins
mindless of those of us
who cling like hell
not to fall off of her
hopeful that gravity
won't retire
and leave us
to fend for ourselves
and I wonder
if she gets tired
of going in circles
wanting to turn a corner
in her life
but discovering
the world is round
and she is getting
nowhere
