yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever

the world is circular
as is life
this glorious cycle
of perpetual rounding
the same corners
over and again
lifetime and again
choices and again
finding we are starting
back from the same place
each time

the human condition-
we build
so we will have something
to deconstruct
we form alliances
to create separation
from others
so we’ll have
someone to fight
and someone on our side

we create expectation
so we’ll have something
to complain about
when we are disappointed
we create exclusivity
to feel superior
but provide charity
to feel justified

and the heart
continues to long
for all that is
yet to be discovered
seeking to find
meaning in it all…
