science

it is strange to pull myself from you
the thought, stretching
how the miles seem to fray
and eventually
we snap back together

I imagine every detail of your body
draped comfortably across mine
and wonder which fragrance
is laced through your hair

it is not so late in my life
that I have given up
on tasting your sweetness
or finding that sometimes

the cup is full
all the way to the top
where our cohesion
holds us tightly together
