Inherent

somewhere in between the confusion
I create in my life
and the boundaries
I allow others to set
my happiness teeters

but despite its juxtaposition,
I still race alongside you
hopeful to be taken in
by the caress
of your windfall

wondering...
do you feel me
getting closer
with every breath
held until we touch

such sweet release
to finally conquer
my inhibitions
tossing them aside
never more to be caged

by my innate fear of loss
as you slowly
pull me in to comfort
and hold me with
