daring to make progress

the resistance to change is powerful
but is no match for endurance
when powered by the heart

while there are plenty
who are satisfied with what is-
even in a lacking state,

there are more with eyes set
on the possibilities
who dream of something more

and despite all the grays
that many paint
to muddle the lines

so they can cast stones
at both sides
in hopes neither will prevail

what is right and just
is still ever present
and visible

to those with the conviction
to seek it
despite the odds

to those who defend it
against the opposition
of mediocracy

and to those with the
courage and perseverance
who dare to drive progress
