Blue Prints

sometimes it seems
like the blue prints
of Grand Design
have been pushed off
by the Architect
to be made
by some understudy
who lacks in skill
and even worse
in finesse

and when we review them
to give final approval
we cannot help
but feel a bit unsatisfied
for it was the mind
of the Architect we paid for
and His expertise
we were expecting
to be delivered
first hand

funny how we second guess
His plans for us
as though to question
why he chose to delegate
such awesome responsibility
to a lesser qualified
member of construct
when in fact, His Grand Design
included just that step
integral to the outcome
best for all involved

within my make up,
lies the keeper
of my excellence
and less proudly at times
at my lack thereof
and as I pencil in the very
rough draft of my life
I realize that I too
lack the skills
to make the best plans
so I put my pencil to rest
and let the Master continue
to develop my Grandest Design
