2 Day Wake

and what is left of me
after the two day sleeplessness
blurred and vision impaired
capacities make me jump the screen

there are two parts of me
the one who remembers
what it was like
to sleep peacefully
then the other who has not known
that luxury for over half of my life.

sometimes I think God wants me to be awake
so that I won't miss something
when life gets interesting
then rationality wins out
and I face the fact that
there is much on my mind
and far too little time
to process it all

and I don't feel so tired
for the moment
