you fall around me
and I am scattered
as daylight fades
and the evening mounts the sky
I think of you, always
nearer than mere imagination
I am the skin covering
your solid bone
and the spurs digging gently
in to your sides
so you will move
towards our opportunity
for all we know
and that on which we never
take the chance
we always choose
I cannot pass you
without tasting your sweetness
let those who command
take leave momentarily
and no one notice
but the two who count
a globe is condensed
in to a single instant
and I see you smiling
throughout me
