mundane

we dressed in bright colors
so we'd recognize each other
a way to set our love apart
from the rest of the world
and we met a safe distance
from the line
but as we danced awhile
we got closer
so close in fact
that line began to blur
and our brightest love
got faded by the gray matter
and before we knew it
we looked just like
everyone else
