signals dance across the
ether of space
hurtling through time
crossing
bouncing
simple thoughts
become unwarranted
attacks
as hearts are battered and beaten
apologies
can only soothe so many
wounds
as tensive nerves
buck with knee jerk
reactions
the painful reality of
the distance between us
looms beneath
our feet
threatening consumption
Love
look to my eyes
and see I will

if I can but
embrace your body
