inconsequential in a world of money and lawyers and mortgages
and yet the poem is essential to the life of anyone real
enough to see beyond the latest marketing campaign - con-
sumers. with an emphasis on con.
commercial interruptions and yet
i have it here too - hypocrisy at
home as well, i guess - the poem is
very much needed in third world coun-
tries and even here at home - sponsor
a poem and take his picture home - or
maybe the starving are more important
than wondering in a world of money and lawyers and mortgages
and even now the poem is essential to me at least anyway
enough so that i see beyong the everyday rat race greed or
try to sometimes not get stuck up in the trap that mammon
brings with it - not money in and of itself, but rather the
love of money making men do horrible, horrible things - in-
side all of us is part beastly, untamed, ferocious. choosing
that which is more difficult, though, is one part of the
process that leads to Him. narrow is the gate and sometimes
i miss it, don't see it, lose track of it and what is real-
ly important or at least should be -
the meek
the work
the week
the wreck
