wild orchids
you are what you love
not what loves you -
coming away with
that on movie (k)
night.
ok?
or?
snap, crackle, soda pop,
please stop, adjust your
sets we are in control -
must love be natural and
easy? or is it labored? and
if it labored, is it right to talk
about it and if it's ok to talk
about it, is it ok to write
about it. is it right?
the poet must break
away from seeing
the world in one
light - i try, i
strive, i fail,
i compile -
the poet
strives
as do
o-
the-
rs
in-
com-
plete.
moments seen out of the corner of my eye
i try and strive (not to rhyme) to remove
the wool covering my own eyes before
i speak. a treat to behold the unfold-
ing of a poet, the subtle arranging
of a poet, the superficial state of
a poet, the incompleteness of a
poet, the forever dreamer nev-
er achieving quite what he's
looking for.
withal, wherewithin, wandering
yet again floundering line after
miserable line wondering aloud
if i'm truly allowed to speak my
mind and not try to hide, the
movie tonight with nic cage
and meryl streep very inte-
resting movie, with the duet
i walked away with - as always
from another play, another time,
another moment, another dream -
adaptability; a poetic ability.
