tuesday night
four dollar
pizza night
at the shop
with a special
on baby sized
pizza pies -
a single
phone rings,
then two...

i don't
remember all the
dates and times,
being dense and
all, but that
call, i rem-
ember.

the phone
rings and
i wonder
what news
it will
bring what
new person
into my life
and whether
or not
they'll
await calls
with as much
anticipation.

proposing like a
thief in the night.
the night not going
as i had planned it,
even tho i was a shady
knight with other skills
and saved the day - that
night riding in the car -
other remembered moments
ringing around my head.
