M-theory

after string theories
combine into one
with the addition
of the 11th
dimension
you/we/world
ends up with M
theory attempting
to explain everything
(even past the singularity)

and what it hints at, shows the
possibility for parallel universes
floating in the proposed multiverse,
occasionally colliding and forming
new universes, all spiraling in
patterns in the 11th dimension
we can't wrap our minds
around very easily.

it sounds good (plausible), but still doesn't
say where the initial universe came from.
that is, science can peek back, but not
to the before the now, before the then,
even though now and then the simple
things turn out to be more important
than we once thought (such as gravity
being relatively weak a force in physics
as the others (magnetism for example -
a magnet lifting a paper clip up and beyond
the bond of gravity that loosely (but more
importantly not too tightly) ties us to this earth, this
rock of matter) where the M comes in - the membrane
of strings of matter that aren't there, constantly shifting)
spinning round a sun, one of many expanding, with a gravity
well (black hole) at the center of each one. and each one of
these solar systems collecting into a galaxy. and galaxy
upon galaxy spinning through space, in motion - rotating,
collapsing, burning up (like mars perhaps) - and these
the known universe and beyond that maybe others
the scientists say.

and if this M Theory turns out to be true, tested
through and through, well, we are all really
connected at the sub-atomic level - one
vast membrane of energy floating
through space so vast and daunting
for a planet bound oxygen breather
such as myself. my mind gets lost,
though, floating at this abstract
level - seeing science with the
poet's eye - as i try to occupy
this frail human mind of mine.
