on time

thoughts so large
i can't hear my mind
and time and time again
the melody sinks in, begins
all over, one more time,
rising to the occasion
and occasionally
just being in
the right
place at
the right
time as
the left
turn in
-to the
parking
lot escape
bottle rocket.

noises prove existence of
time taking a while to
reach us so we can
reconstruct what
happens with
matter with
drums of
flesh also
used to bal-
ance us with
toes too and
where was i
going? i'm
losing time,
saving time,
daylight time,
space time.

also mine,
also on my
mind, the
kind way
shadows
fall on
the walls
and phone-
calls stretch out
toward oblivion of
everything connected
the loss of sense of self
the interconnectedness of
all of this unraveling right
here before us - on time
