rainstorm

the booming sound
of thunder echoing
through the whole
town - shaking
this building,
unsettling the
newborn rabbits
(whatever we might
call them) under-
neath the foliage,
seeking out warmth -
home - that special
place. and the rain
isn't even coming
down yet - just
those loud
booming
sounds -
then a volley
or two of fireworks -
let off in the street.

lightning illuminates the sky
for just a moment - flickering
to life, lighting the forms of
the clouds behind and the
fountain is finally turned
off for the night.
