the power of images
photographs from the
past hold no sway, not
tomorrow and not today,
and in a way, it was thou-
sands of words - castles on
the shores of lake michigan
maybe someday, maybe some
morning, maybe sometime.

a dinosaur named apollo launching from
a shoe box, strong, silent and plastic.
and.

chewbacca. whattawookie who spins
and spins. smiles.
and.

hand written pages. letters. thoughts
dripped to the page.
textual.
and.

the moon out my window floats thru the sky
while on the moon in my mind, the earth stays
somewhat stable while the sun careens around,
discharging energy in an outward motion.
and.

oneirisms
all the time
mispronoun-
ciation citations -
wondering, wondering -
seeing the brain waves
emitted. abstract images,
soft, blue, brush strokes...

gently,
the water
lapped at
the shore
and i'm
sure the
water was
reminded
incidently -
     images caught
                in time
                and fro-
                      zen to do
                           that which we wish
or otherwise allow in our lives.

alone at the edge of the stream,
not smiling but not sad, he tossed
some of these and others into the
water flowing away. and they float-
ed like twig and leaf sailboats, d-
own the river and beyond, lost at
                                              sea.

in the back of my mind and now there is
perhaps room and time for new images
to imprint themselves into my being.
