the first verse has been with me for a while now. rereading, i wonder if it's meant as a title for a book - collection of poetry and not a poem in itself. that is, not sure if i like the rest after the first two lines...

I liked it, sir!
Seems to be quite a bit different than your normal modus operandi. Not thematically, but structually.
I'm used to seeing you engage in wordplay and the sounds words make when combined. They remind me of jazz music. There's form and structure, but a lot of freedom.
Anyway, I enjoyed this one. I feel aligned with the voice in this poem quite often.
