rooms of a book

i sometimes feel like the chapters of
the book are a series of rooms in my
mind and i'm clumsily bursting in only
to hear, "get out, you're not ready for us
yet." and i stumble to the next room, and
get another small glimpse of the totality
of what i'm trying to capture. new hallways
opened up tonight, leading from here to
there and from there to here.
