The End

Like ice we began, water flowing through my hand,
I let you escape, God had another plan.
When we stepped in the airport, a silent tear in my eye,
I knew this would be.. the end of our time.

My heart on fire, my lips sealed close,
I waited for you, but I knew it was no more.
My life conceited, destiny defeated,
Left punished and humiliated, I began to walk the shore.

In my dream you came to me, like an angel you smiled,
Happy and beautiful, I wished you well.
I looked deep in your eyes and with great regret,
I realised we were never have meant to met.

A touch so gentle, feelings so brittle,
Spirit so fragile, what was I thinking?
Intoxicated in you, I forgot who I was,
Let bygones be bygones I need to move on.

Like a comet in the sky, may God take me high,
Shower her with blessings and bring the angels by.
