between a badger
and the badger den
my quaking knees

summer heat -
drinking beer in the shade
watering trees
***
cherry bush
drooping with fruit
sparrows and finches
***
on a forest path
me and the porcupine both
stock-still
***
how lazy I am
watching the weeds grow
in your garden
***
summer rain -
rising from the pavement
a smell of dust
***
so many flies -
maybe this picnic
was a bad idea
