my German Shepard
is biting at a yellow butterfly
white and yellow dandelions

west street dances
with tree-shadows
gusty spring

a dinosaur stands in the dirt
among water hose and phlox
sunny backyard

stretching the bottoms
of street lights into a cross
my eyes are weary

down wall street
lines of irises
no blooms

Kansas sky
--a mourning dove coos
long and blue

front porch swing
light from inside puts
stripes on the tree trunks

green maple helicopters
tonight on sagging branches
no crickets

good to see / read ya. how
